EQ Wizard v1.4.0

Turn equations into motion-ready After Effects layers. Paste LaTeX, MS Word (Unicode), or MathML and EQ Wizard rebuilds them as editable text layers and comps — no redrawing by hand.

After Effects 2025 or newer · macOS & Windows

EQ Wizard docked in After Effects — equation source, live preview, and the built comp.
The panel — paste, preview, insert.

How it works

  • Three input formats. LaTeX, MS Word (Unicode), or MathML — with a live preview before you insert.
  • Real text layers. Split into variables, terms, or a single layer; every glyph stays editable in the comp.
  • Rigged for animation. Layers are labeled by role and parented to one control null — move and scale the whole equation at once.
  • Layers or precomp. Build directly into the active comp or as a tidy precomp.
The result — clean, editable equations in the comp, ready to animate.

Required fonts

Equations render with real math OpenType fonts. Install either (or both) system-wide — both are free:

Install

  1. Download EQ_Wizard-1.4.0.zxp.
  2. Install it with ZXPInstaller or Anastasiy’s Extension Manager.
  3. In After Effects, open Window → Extensions → EQ Wizard.

The build is signed with a self-signed certificate — an “unverified publisher” notice during install is expected.
